The imagery of a golden thread is rich in association, ripe with significance. In our practice, the golden thread is a means of putting ourselves on an energetic spit, connecting the personal and the universal. The golden thread is cosmic material for embodiment which, through the conscious manipulation of breath work, we can use to organize the mind and body. The wraps for rapture are breath techniques wherein the meditator uses the breath to guide the golden thread along circuitous, energetic routes; weaving the imagination through and around the body becomes a means of wrapping oneself up, much like winding a string up into a ball.
