WHAT DREW YOU TO KATONAH YOGA?
The intelligence and comprehensiveness of it. It is an incredible inclusive and surprisingly modern practice. It goes beyond the idea of yoga as a physical workout or a way of being ‘all spiritual’. It helps us to encounter everyday life with well thought out recipes of yogic techniques and a big enough portion of mysticism to let our imagination fly.
HOW HAS KATONAH YOGA CHANGED YOUR PRACTICE & TEACHING?
My mind has become more clear and engaged in the physical practice. It helped me recognize some of my own patterns and actually change them. My body is lighter, bouncier and I am able to manifest my life’s projects with more grace and accuracy. As for teaching, I have developed the ability to see, queue and touch my students with confidence, now owning a solid toolset of hands-on adjustments, while integrating theory with depth and coherence.
HOW HAVE YOU SEEN KATONAH YOGA CHANGE STUDENTS?
I see it everyday. There is an instant change that happens when physical form is corrected. Then, the breath or energy flow more efficiently and freely throughout the body, changing one's perception and expression in the very moment. Over time and with steady practice, real structural changes in our physiology and psychology happen inevitably. Pains disappear, students gain more range of motion, fluency and better capacity to concentrate - their whole orientation in space and time changes for the better and for good.
