WHAT DREW YOU TO KATONAH YOGA?

How magical, practical and insightful this theory is. How powerful it is to find home in your own body and participate in your own well being.

HOW HAS KATONAH CHANGED YOUR PRACTICE & TEACHING?

I love the idea of using measurement and proportions instead of feelings and sensations. This intelligence helps me gain perspective; working with archetypes doesn’t allow me to just do me. Teaching students to use props to organize and support the framework of their bodies is so rewarding. Using these tools enables them to acquire insights to deepen their practice.

HOW HAVE YOU SEEN KATONAH CHANGE STUDENTS?

When students understand and access the folds and fits of their body it brings a certain ease to the pose, an effortless effort! When they use the imagination to go to a new place, when they finally take that breath, not because you asked them to, but because they are so well-organized that the breath floods in, feeding every cell of their body and filling them with joy.

Reorient and reorganize yourself again and again so that there is an opportunity to develop insight, to get over the personal and to manipulate yourself in time and space.
